Although he was baptised at St. Philip the Apostle Anglican Church, he was buried at Our Lady of Fatima RC Cemetery. And since it was a single memorial I assumed it was indicating the person buried was unmarried and hence converted. But I was wrong because he appears in the 1935 census with a wife and daughter. His wife was RC but he remained C of E according to the Census.

Apparently the bride and groom had the same surname.

Note that there are three plausible marriage records for a William Graham, 2 in Kirklinton, and one in Carlisle: one each in 1704, 1707 and 1710. There is really no way of knowing which of these is correct and hence the name of the wife is only conjectural at this time (given in the three instances as Katherine, Kathrina and Catherine. This is an amazing coincidence in one small community and it seems likely that the transcripts are duplicates with different dates. No original images are available online.
