Email from Fergus Kennedy 24 June 2007: "Secondly,the Hanorah Quinlisk who was the head of household in Behamore Smith in 1911 was actually the widow of Denis (not Michael) Quinlisk. Her maiden name was Hawley.They had at least eight children, including two sets of twins. I've been unable to find a death cert for him, but from the land records it looks like he died around about 1880. Denis was the son of Patrick ( d. 24 Jun 1870, age 77 ), and Ellen Quinlisk ( d 16 Apr 1872, age 73 ) of Behamore Smith."

From the 1901 Census we see that one of the girls married a man named Cavanagh because two of their children are living in the household of their widowed grandmother but we do not know who their mother is nor the Christian name of the father since neither is present on the census. One of the children, Denis, is still living with the grandmother on the 1911 Census but neither of the parents are present once again.

I had not been unable to connect this small family Dan Quinlisk and Mary Hanley to Jamie's Quinlisks in Behamore and Silverstream but it seems likely they are connected.

Today I was able to merge them into the existing listings for Daniel Quinlisk and Mary Hawley. The common factor was the locale - Ballygibbon, though in one case that was listed as Cloughjordan and in the other Nenagh. It is one and the same place so the two couples are the same despite the sligh difference in the spelling of her surname, probably an error on the church transcript

According to the 1911 Census, she had just been widowed the previous year (years of marriage 30) and had four children living. I've added Daniel, who was living with her along with John but the other two were not at home and their names are not given. Presumably one was Mary and the other unknown.

Amongst her neighbours are a Michael Cawley [sic]. This was probably her brother and the name should have been Hawley. Also there was a James Quinlisk, most likely her brother-in-law, but possibly her son.
