The bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Maurice M. Devine. The best man was Gordon White, cousin of the groom. Bridesmaid was Miss Helena R Battcock, sister of the bride. The flower girls were Margaret Battcock and Susie Fitzgerald. Mrs Morry is a graduate nurse of Symes Hospital, Arlington, Mass. They will make their home at Fall River, Mass.

US 1920 Census shows her father's birthplace as "Canada" but that is so for her husband and his parents as well and we know they were from Newfoundland. Obviously the census taker did not know that Newfoundland was not a part of Canada. This being the case, I believe it is highly likely that she was a daughter of one of the White's from Ferryland that emigrated to the US. Needs more investigation.

Ida married Michael Michael (no 's'). Ida is a good friend of mine. She is divorced from "Mickey". Ida is a nurse. Mickey was in the Christian Brothers but left in the 60s. They got married and left Newfoundland for BC where he worked as a school teacher. They were divorced sometime back and Ida moved back to NF and he moved back when he retired. He is a very good singer and has some success locally with recording. His father was also well known in Newfoundland as a musician and I believe he had an orchestra. Even though everyone called him Mickey Michaels, Ida assures me it is Michael Michael. They are of Lebanese descent.

In her book, Over The Fence, Laura Morry Williams tells the story of a mishap Hughie had while driving a load of material back from St. John's to Ferryland. The truck went off the road in a snow storm and broke apart, spilling its contents all over the road. Hughie had to walk for miles to find a phone he could use to inform the owners. Gordon Johnson, one of the owners, immediately enquired of Hughie's wellbeing while Gordon's brother Henry only wanted to know about the condition of the truck and cargo, evidently a statement on the relative values of the two men.
