I cannot be 100% certain that I have chosen the correct mother for this child. There was only one Joan Winser (by any spelling) of childbearing age in Denbury at this time so far as my research has shown. But this Joan may have been a sojourner (e.g. a house servant) and not a family member from the parish. More often than not it was housemaids who wound up being impregnated by their employer and bearing a so called "base" child. The fact that the Minister has spelled the surname Windsor and not Winser or Winsor which were the typical spellings used by the family in Denbury at that time leads to doubt that this is indeed the mother of the child.

BDM record on CD-ROM records his name incorrectly as William Athlone Morey. The second name was propably inadvertently transcribed from the location block to the name block in the database. But the spelling of the surname is probably how this family preferred to be known, based upon consistent useage in documents I have seen for the Caplin Bay Morrys (Moreys), at least in this era.

The BDM notes the appearance of the marriage notice on 08 Dec 1885 in: 1) Gazette (Royal Newfoundland Gazette) 1807- 2) Times and General Commercial Gazette 1832-1895

Bride was the fifth daughter of Peter Windsor.

Anna Elton Morris notes that because Muriel, the eldest, was still 16 at the time her mother died, and William continued to work in northern BC, the children had to fend for themselves and were largely raised by relatives such as Peter Morry, which explains why some of them appear on Censuses in other houses.
