This is purely a guess as to his Chrisitan name and the fact that he was the father of Thomas and Henry. Much more research needs to be done on this and even then it may never be possible to prove. I am basing this on the fact that his burial record appears in the Denbury register on February 9th 1647-48 as a widower, a time which would make him an appropriate candidate for these two Winsors who appear in the Denbury register as children beginning in the 1650s.

• Property: Purchase of waterside premises, house etc., 1 Jan 1876, Burnt Island, Exploits, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This sale is notable not only because it shows that Thomas Avery Winsor was in the Burnt Island area as early as 1876, contrary to other evidence suggesting he was resident in St. John's until 1885 but also because the JP who witnessed the sale was James Jennings Winsor, meaning he resided in the area then too.

Notes
General:
Harriet Chafe first married Washington Hill Windsor, bore 5 children by him and then on his death married his brother Peter and had 2 more children by him. This according to the Windsor Family Tree provided by Anthony Oliphant in June 2001.

24/09/03: In NGB record of church subscriptions dated June 28, 1866 it is noted that he contributed 5 shillings. At the same time William Warner LeMessurier contributed 1 pound 10 shillings and Thomas Graham Morry contributed 2 pounds. The Bowring Bros. contributed 15 pounds each and the Governor 30 pounds. This is an indication of their relative economic station.

280919:

Both Enid O'Brien and Anna Elton Morris report that he was enamoured of Miss Lizzie Morry and that either she rejected his advances or the family would not permit first cousins to marry. It is also said that he jumped into the harbour with her in his arms to try and kill the two of them when she rejected him but that they were saved. Anna suggests he married on the rebound but never got over his first love from Lizzie and that he frequently anchored his schooner in Morry's Cove leading to much talk in the village. There is a letter that he wrote to his sister, Vic, that seems to suggest this is more than rumour. 5803

Notes
General:
191018:

I have no way of knowing how or even if this person was related to the Winsors of Denbury who settled in Aquaforte. That may become clearer as I go through the registers of Denbury parish or it may always remain a mystery. One thing is clear; she is the first person using this surname that I was able to discern from the oldest register, which however is virtually illegible for its first few decades before this.

The fact that there are none of her kin (or namesakes) appearing in this register until we find a man named Thomas Winser marrying Jane Symons on Feburary 21st 1655/56 over forty years later suggests that she was not from this parish and that the family was only very gradually moving to or visiting Denbury at least for the sacraments.

301018:

For the reasons given above I am tentatively assigning her to the same family as Jospeh, Richard, Thomas and John Winsor, all of whom begin to appear in the Denbury registers at about the same time that she does.
